Ups and Downs, endlessly rising and falling sound

I’ve made a new prototype for the Design Research Playground. Ups and Downs is an audiovisual playground that combines two Shepard tones with two overlapping line generators.

You can shape the illusion of endlessly rising or falling pitch, and link the visual motion to either tone. Everyone visiting shares the same live controls, so you might find someone else is playing with it at the same time as you.

Try Ups and Downs here.
